Box Score
New Haven, Conn. - Adrian Melville knocked in his first-game winning goal of the year and Princeton left Yale with a 1-0 win to close out the season. Melville, who now has two career game-winning goals, ends the year as Princeton's leading scorer with three goals and nine points.
Only 5:21 into the contest, freshman Ben Young crossed a ball that Melville knocked past Yale goalie Matt Aleksinas. That would be all the scoring Princeton would need with senior Jason White in goal. White, who returned from injury and started Princeton's game last Saturday versus Penn, was back in goal and for the second straight Saturday, he would shutout the opposition.
White picked up nine saves and registered his third shutout of the season. He finishes his Princeton career with a school-record 26 shutouts. Robert Pawloski '93, who is second on the career shutout list, has half as many with 13.
The Tigers end the season on an upswing, going 2-1-1 in their last four Ivy games. Princeton finishes with an overall mark of 4-8-5 and a 2-3-2 Ivy record.
