Philadelphia, Pa. - Princeton scored touchdowns by passing, running and with the special teams; however, Pennsylvania's offensive attack proved to be too much in the sprint football season finale on Friday night. The Quakers racked up 617 yards of total offense in a 55-18 win over the Tigers at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Penn took the opening kickoff and drove 55 yard to paydirt to take the early lead. The Tigers' offense would answer with Princeton scoring on its first possession when Ariel Melendez caught a 36-yard strike from Dennis Bakke to cap a six-play, 62-yard drive. The Quakers scored again with Mark Gannon rushing for his second score of the night and Penn led 13-6 after the first quarter.
The Quakers scored 27 unanswered points as Jeff Bagnoli threw for two second-quarter touchdowns while Pat Monoghan ran in for another. With two minutes remaining in the half, the Tigers' special teams stepped up and blocked a Penn punt. Olawale Oladehi picked up the loose ball and ran 28 yard for the score, making it 34-12 at the intermission.
The Tigers would score once more, punching in a 67-yard drive with Rikki Racela's three-yard run up the middle. Racela led Princeton's rushers with 35 yards on the night. Bakke finished with 113 yards passing and Melendez led receivers with 64 yards on four catches.
Princeton ends the season with an 0-6 overall record and an 0-4 CSFL mark. Bakke ends the season averaging 101 yard passing per game with 606 yards and one touchdown pass. Racela led the Tigers on the ground with 254 rushing yards. Adam Farren highlighted the receiving corps with 285 yards receiving.
