Men's Fencers Fall To Quakers 14-13

Princeton, NJ - The Princeton men's fencing team fell to the Penn Quakers 14-13 to fall to 4-4 on the season. Princeton dominated the epee and saber and events, winning six of nine and seven of nine respectively. But the difference was in the foil, where Penn swept all nine bouts.
Top performers for the Tigers were defending National Champion Soren Thompson, who went 3-0 in epee, and Mike Brosterman, who posted a 3-0 record in saber.
On the women's side, the Tigers defeated Penn 14-13 to improve to 7-4 on the season. The women were led by a strong showing from epee contingent, who won eight of nine bouts, including the trilling deciding match, when senior Lindsay Campbell defeated Penn's Kim Linton, 5-3.
Other top performers for the Tigers were senior Maya Lawrence, who took all three of here bouts in epee, and Catherine Pack, who won two of three bouts in saber. Penn took five of the nine saber bouts, and seven of nine bouts in foil.
The Tigers return to action on Feb. 23, when both the men and women face Yale and Harvard in the HYP meet at Harvard.
