Women's Swimming Takes Third Straight Ivy League Title

Cambridge, Mass. - The Princeton women's swimming and diving team won its third straight Ivy League title despite having no champions on the third and final day of competition. Princeton led the final points tally with 706, edging Brown (691) and defeating rivals Harvard (655) and Yale (605). The bottom four were Columbia (337), Penn (335), Cornell (166), and Dartmouth (165).
The Tigers used several strong performances on day three of the championships to hold onto its 27-point lead entering the morning. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Chrissy Holland place second with a time of 2:19.78. In the 200-yard backstroke, Lisa Battaglia placed third with a time of 2:02.87. Katherine Mattison's 451.8 points earned her third in the 3-meter diving, the event which Erin Lutz '01 set the meet record in last year with 538.65 points. Princeton also finished third in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 3:27.38.
