Seven Tigers Earn ECAC All-Academic Honors

CAPE COD, MA - Princeton has placed seven men's hockey players on the 2001-02 ECAC All-Academic team. David Del Monte (Sr., Economics), Dan Hursh (So., Sociology), Neil McCann (Jr., Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Chris Owen, SO., Undeclared), George Parros (Jr., Economics), Scott Prime (Jr., Economics) and Steve Slaton (So., Politics) were Princeton's representatives among the 72 players representing all 12 ECAC schools that were named to the ECAC All-Academic team.
The ECAC All-Academic team, which began in the 1999-00 season, honors those student-athletes who excel both on the ice and in the classroom. To be named to the team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have played in at least 50 percent of his team's contests during the current season.
Princeton finished its season 11-18-2, including a 10-10-2 mark during conference play. The Tigers clinched a sixth place seed going into ECAC postseason action by going 4-0-1 in their last five games. That run came to an end with two losses at Rensselaer in the first round of the conference playoffs.
