Princeton's Stathos Named ECAC Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's Dave Stathos (Sr., Longueuil, QUE) was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week on March 3 after recording 36 saves en route to his first career shutout in the 3-0 win vs. Harvard in men's hockey action on Saturday night.
Stathos opened the weekend with 16 saves as Princeton snapped Brown's six-game winning streak with a 3-2 win. He stopped all 36 shots he faced against Harvard to record Princeton's first shutout over the Crimson in 50 years on Senior Night at Hobey Baker Rink.
Stathos has rewritten the Princeton record books during his four-year career. He is No. 1 in the record books amongst Princeton netminders with a .906 career save percentage. He is No. 2 in career saves with 2,513 and No. 3 in minutes played 5,372 (42 behind No. 2 James Konte).
Princeton (11-16-2, 10-10-2 ECAC) is seeded sixth going into the ECAC tournament and will travel to No. 5 Rensselaer (16-12-4, 10-9-3 ECAC) for a first round best-of three game series beginning on March 8. The winners of the five first round matchups will head to Lake Placid for the ECAC Final Five. All first round games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
