Tigers Visit Harvard On Saturday

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's lacrosse team takes its No. 1 ranking and an unbeaten Ivy League record to Harvard this Saturday, April 13. The Tigers are currently enjoying a 10-game winning streak and visit Cambridge with a 10-1 overall record. Harvard is 4-4 and coming off a loss at Pennsylvania.
Princeton and Harvard have met 27 times in program history and the Crimson own a 14-13 advantage in the series. Harvard dominated the series early, winning 11 straight against Princeton from 1985-1992, but Princeton has won the last nine meetings, including the last four at Harvard.
The Tigers took over the No. 1 spot in the IWLCA Poll this week with 200 total points and all 10 first-place votes. Princeton head coach Chris Sailer has had her teams ranked in the Top-10 in each of the last 14 years and ranked No. 1 during parts of the 1989, 1992, 1994 and 1995 seasons. Sailer graduated from Harvard in 1981 where she was a two-time first-team All-Ivy selection.
Princeton is 4-0 in road contests this season, outscoring opponents 60-23 in those games. Harvard is 2-0 at home but 0-2 in the Ivy League. The Tigers have won all three of their Ivy games with a margin of victory of 8.7. Princeton has 161 goals this season, which is 50 more than anyone else in the Ivy League and 95 more than Harvard.
Saturday's contest is a double-header with the women's game starting at noon. The Princeton men's lacrosse teams plays Harvard at 3 p.m. Both games can be heard live on www.GoPrincetonTigers.com.
