Princeton, N.J. - Princeton enters Saturday's game versus Dartmouth with a 12-1 overall record and a No. 1 ranking in the IWLCA Poll. The Tigers have won 12 straight and can clinch at least a share of the Ivy League championship with a win over the Big Green.
Last season, Dartmouth and Princeton shared the Ivy title after Princeton fell to the Big Green during a regular season match. The Tigers avenged that loss with a 10-4 win in the NCAA Quarterfinals and advanced to the Final Four.
Dartmouth comes into Saturday with a 9-3 overall record and a No. 13 ranking. The Big Green are 4-2 in the Ivy League and have won four straight games since losing at Cornell. Either Princeton or Dartmouth has won the Ivy League title in each of the last eight seasons.
The Tigers are led by senior Lauren Simone and sophomore Theresa Sherry, each of whom has scored 32 goals this season. Sherry lead the team in points with 42 and Simone's eight assists give her 40 points.
Dartmouth brings the league's top scorer in Jen Newitt. She has 33 goals in 12 games played. Allison Moulin is second on the team with 24 goals and 11 assists.
With two more Ivy games on the schedule, Princeton cannot win the outright Ivy League championship on Saturday because Cornell and Yale, each of whom has one loss on the year, play each other. The Tigers would however, guarantee themselves an NCAA bid because they defeated both Cornell and Yale.
Saturday's game is the second game of a men's-women's double-header. The men's lacrosse team plays Cornell at noon and the women are slated for a 3 p.m. draw.
