Men's Tennis Ends Season With 6-1 Win Over Cornell

PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton closed out its regular season with a 6-1 win over Cornell at the Lenz Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers finish the season 14-9, 5-2 in the Ivy League. The Big Red end their season at 19-7, 4-3.
Senior Judson Williams went 2-0 in his matches. He teamed with Tim Kofol for an 8-6 win over Julian Cheng and Mike Schlapping at first doubles. Dan Friedman and Josh Burman handed Chris Lewis and Scott Spencer a 9-7 loss at third doubles to clinch the point. Cornell's Stefan Paulovic and Zach Gallin defeated Hendrik Chasse and Trevor Smith 9-7 at second doubles.
Williams closed out the day with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Gallin at first singles. Smith and Burman posted 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-0 wins at second and third singles, respectively. Scott Paltrowitz eked out a 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 win over senior Darren Joe for the Big Red's only point of the day. Tim Kofol defeated Schlapping 6-3, 6-2 at fifth singles and Friedman closed out the lineup with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5) win over Lewis at sixth singles.
Princeton, which matched its Ivy record from a year ago, will lose Williams, Joe and Nick Benjamin to graduation.
