Tigers Host Bulldogs At Class Of 1952 Stadium

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton University women's lacrosse team hosts Yale in a mid-season Ivy League battle at Class of 1952 Stadium this Saturday, April 6. Both the Tigers are Bulldogs enter undefeated in conference play with Princeton sporting an 8-1 overall record while Yale comes in at 7-1 on the year.
Princeton has won eight straight games and is ranked No. 2 in the IWLCA Poll. The Tigers and Bulldogs have met 27 times and Princeton holds a 15-11-1 all-time edge in the series. Of those 15 wins, 10 have come in the last 10 meetings with Yale. The Tigers have outscored Yale by an average of 6.1 goals per game during the current win streak.
Yale is 3-0 in the Ivy League and is ranked No 12 in the IWLCA Poll. The Elis are led offensively by Clarissa Clarke, who has 27 points on the year. Sarah Queener is right behind her with 26 points in eight games played.
Princeton is led offensively by senior Lauren Simone, who has 23 goals and 28 points on the year. Sophomore Theresa Sherry also has 28 points with 21 goals and seven assists. Junior Rachael Becker leads the defensive charge with 18 caused turnovers.
The Tigers have five of their remaining seven games against Ivy schools. Winning all five of those games would ensure Princeton its first outright league title since 1996 when it went 6-0 in the conference. Last season, Princeton shared the Ivy crown with Dartmouth.
