Swim Teams Remain Unbeaten With Sweep Of Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H. - The Princeton University swimming and diving teams returned to action on Sunday afternoon and swept Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. to remain unbeaten on the season. The men earned a 176-100 victory to improve to 5-0 and the women notched a 172-132 win to move to 6-0 this season.
The Princeton women took first place in each of the first eight events to pull away from the Big Green early. Senior Chrissy Holland and freshman Libby Engelmeier won two events apiece to lead the individual performances. Holland captured both the 25-yard breaststroke and 25-yard backstroke while Engelmeier won both the 25- and 100-yard freestyle races.
Senior Molly Seto won the 50-yard backstroke and sophomores Amy Jones (50-yard butterfly), Chrissy Macaulay (50-yard freestyle) and Courtney Green (200-yard freestyle) captured individual event in the win. Tiger freshmen Kitsie Kerner (200-yard IM) and Eileen Altenburger (100-yard freestyle) also contributed with first-place finishes. On the men's side, seniors Carl Hessler, Jesse Gage and Karl Telleen all won two events apiece to lead the charge. Gage won the 25-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly, Hessler won the 25-yard butterfly and 50-yard freestyle, and Telleen captured both the 25- and 50-yard backstroke events.
Sophomore Nick Lee also won two events, taking first on both the 1- and 3-meter diving boards. Senior Justin Cremer won the 400-yard freestyle, junior Juan Valdivieso led a 1-2-3 Princeton finish in the 800-yard IM and sophomores Thorn Baccich (200-yard freestyle) and Evan DeLaney (50-yard backstroke) won their respective events to give Princeton 12 first-place finishers in 15 meet events.
The Tigers travel to Cambridge, Mass for the Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet next weekend. The women compete Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 and the men are in action on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2.
