Men's Soccer Faces American On Wednesday

PRINCETON, N.J. - The men's soccer team travels to American this Wednesday for a non-conference game against the Eagles, who are 3-7-1 overall, 0-3 in the Patriot League and on a four game losing streak.
However, American's record may be deceiving, as all seven of its losses - including a 2-1 loss to then-No. 1 Maryland - were by just one goal
The Eagles opened their season with three wins over UMBC, Towson and George Washington and a tie with Georgetown before they suffered their first loss, 1-0 to Virginia. American then lost six of its next eight games but defeated William and Mary, 4-1, and George Mason, 3-1.
The Tigers look to rebound from a 3-1 loss to Brown, which dropped them to 4-3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Ivies. Brown leads the Ivy League and is ranked No. 20 in the latest NSCAA national poll. Princeton sits at No. 8 in the Middle Atlantic regional poll, falling one spot since last week.
Darren Spicer and Jame Wunsch lead the Tigers with six points apiece while Jeff Hare and Kyle McHugh each have two goals. Erik White has played every minute in goal and recorded a .676 save percentage and 1.26 goals against average. For American, junior Peter Philipakos has four goals and two assists for a team-high 10 points. Junior forward Andrew Herman has three goals and junior midfielder Shawn Kuykendall has one goal and four assists.
The Eagles have out-shot their opponents 158 to 126 are have scored as many goals as they have allowed (13). American also took 64 corner kicks compared to just 26 by their opponents.
