Tennis Takes A Pair From Old Dominion

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's and women's tennis teams each earned victories over Old Dominion at Jadwin Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Tiger men won 6-1 to improve to 4-3 on the season while the women won by a 4-3 count to improve to 4-1 overall.
The women's team dropped a point in doubles competition with Old Dominion winning 8-6 in first and second doubles play. Old Dominion won its second point when Nataly Cahana, ranked fifth nationally in singles play, defeated Kavitha Krishnamurthy in No. 1 singles. Cahana won 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
The Tigers responded with wins in No. 2 through No. 5 singles to seal the win in Princeton's spring opener. Tigers winners include Neha Uveroi (#2), Stephanie Berg (#3), Jacki Arcario (#4) and Mateya McCoy (#5).
On the men's side, Princeton captured the doubles point with 8-4, 8-5 wins and after ODU took the No. 1 singles point from Trevor Smith, the Tigers answered with wins from Josh Burman, Darius Craton, Hans Plukas, Dan Friedman and Andrew Lieu. Craton and Friedman each won in straight sets.
The men are home for their next five matches and back in action next Friday and Saturday. The Tigers face St. Joseph's and Stony Brook on Friday and George Washington on Saturday. The women are also home next weekend with Binghamton at Jadwin on Saturday and Virginia Tech in on Sunday.
