Solomon Wins Junior Olympics

Tiger freshman Ben Solomon went undefeated in the junior men's epee to win the epee event at the Junior Olympics this past weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. Solomon placed first in a field of 178 competitors in the 20 and under category.
The win solidified his ranking as the the top junior at eppe in the United States. Solomon went unbeaten in the early rounds, then topped Martin Lee 15-10 in the quarterfinals. In the semis, he topped Bill Verigan, a freshman at Columbia, 15-13, and in the gold medal match, he defeated Jason Henderson 15-12.
Solomon and the Princeton fencing team resume their regular season next weekend when they take on Harvard and Yale in New Haven.
