Rutgers Rallies For 3-2 Win In Men's Volleyball

PRINCETON, N.J. - Despite 21 kills by Blake Robinson and 51 assists by Jason Liljestrom, Princeton dropped its first EIVA match of the season 3-2 to Rutgers-Newark Tuesday night at Dillon Gym. Brian Honsberger led Rutgers back with 17 kills.
Princeton won the first game 30-22 before falling by the identical score in the second game. The Tigers took the third game 30-25, but Rutgers hit a team-best .343 to take the fourth game 30-21. Rutgers used an early surge to take a 6-2 lead in the fifth game and held off a late rally to win 15-13.
Dennis Alshuler had 18 kills to go along with Robinson's match-high 21 kills. Brian Hamming added nine kills and six blocks. Aleks Ondelj had 54 assists for Rutgers, while Danko Iordanov had 12 kills.
Princeton will face Concordia Thursday at Dillon Gym at 7 p.m.
