Fencing Places Sixth At NCAA Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Princeton men's and women's fencing teams combined to place sixth at the 2003 NCAA Championships. The Tigers garnered 107 points in the five events they competed in to finish 75 points behind winner Penn State.
Princeton's biggest point total came at the women's foil where the Tigers earned 32 points fueled by Jacqueline Leahy's seventh-place finish and Midy Roastal's ninth-place finish. Also on the women's side, Princeton placed two in the top-15 of the epee with Eleanor Leighton seventh and Kira Hohensee 15th. Princeton's lone competitor in the women's saber was Catherine Pack who finished 13th.
On the men's side, Ben Solomon posted Princeton's highest individual finish when he placed fifth in the epee. Teammate Soren Thompson was 12th in the epee. The Tigers also had two men competing in the foil. Eric Stodola placed 18th and Jon Jew-Lim posted a 23rd-plkace finish.
