Fantinelli, Kabiri, Lee Earn Academic All-America Honors

Princeton has had three men honored as national College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans in the at-large category.
Men's lacrosse player Nate Kabiri was a second-team selection, while golfer Riccardo Fantinelli and fencer Brandson Lee were named third-team selections. In all 45 athletes were chosen as Academic All-Americans across the three teams and among all the sports in the at-large category, which includes beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball (men's), water polo, and wrestling. Baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, cross country/track and field, football, and volleyball each have their own CSC honors. Schools submit up to six men and six women from across the at-large sports to be named Academic All-District, and from there, a subset of All-District honorees are placed on a ballot for CSC members to vote on for Academic All-America honors.
Nate Kabiri was a Tewaaraton Award finalist who helped Princeton to the NCAA men's lacrosse championship as a junior this past spring. Kabiri was a USA Lacrosse Magazine first-team All-American and a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection, as well as the Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy League tournament and an NCAA tournament All-Tournament team selection.
He also tied for the Division I lead in points with 87 (39G, 48A), which also tied for the second-best single season total in program history, and he scored seven goals and added 12 assists in Princeton's four NCAA tournament games. He finished his junior season eighth in career points at Princeton with 205, and he will begin the 2027 season as the active Division I leader in career points. Kabiri is an economics major from McLean, Va.
Riccardo Fantinelli recently completed one of the most stellar careers in the storied history of Princeton's men's golf program. A three-time Ivy League Player of the Year, Fantinelli is the first Princeton men's golfer and just the second in Ivy League history to earn Ivy Player of the Year three times. Along the way, he was named All-Ivy four times to become the fourth Tiger and 13th Ivy Leaguer all-time to earn four career All-Ivy honors. A two-time Ivy League champion, Fantinelli never finished lower than fifth at the Ivy Tournament and won two team championships in 2023 and 2025.
A three-time PING All-Region selection and a two-time PING All-American, Fantinelli played in three NCAA Regionals. After playing in 2023 and 2025 when the Tigers qualified as a team, Fantinelli earned an at-large individual selection in 2026. A native of Rome, Fantinelli has represented Italy multiple times in amateur team competition including a win at the 2025 European Amateur Team Championship. He graduated in May with a degree in economics and is the first CSC Academic All-American in the history of Princeton men's golf.
For the third straight year, a Princeton fencer is a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honoree, with Brandon Lee as the latest Tiger to win the award. Brandon Lee follows Nicholas Lawson '25 and Tristan Szapary '24 as CSC Academic All-America honorees from the program, while Jonathan Yergler '13 (2012) and Harald Winkmann '95 (1994) give the Princeton men's fencing program a total of five Academic All-America honorees all-time. With Lindsay Campbell '02 (2002) adding one on the women's side, the Princeton fencers have a combined six all-time honorees.
A computer science major in the Class of 2026, Lee is a three-time All-American in foil, earning the honor with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2023, a third-place finish in 2025 and a sixth-place finish in 2026. Lee was also the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional foil champion in both 2025 and 2026, a first-team USFCA all-region honoree in 2025 and a second-team all-region honoree in 2023 and 2024. He earned second-team All-Ivy League honors in 2026 after going 8-4 at the Ivy League Championships, and he was the program's 2026 Academic All-Ivy League honoree.
