Princeton, N.J. - Chris Sailer's last two wins have earned her an NCAA title and her 200th career win. With milestones and title games set aside for awhile, the Tigers are now focused on Loyola and the threat the Greyhounds pose to Princeton's 20 game win streak. The top-ranked Tigers face No. 5 Loyola at Class of 1952 Stadium this Sunday at 2 p.m. in a game that can be heard live on WBUD AM 1260 and www.GoPrincetonTigers.com.
Princeton enters with a 1-0 record after defeating Lafayette 15-6 in the season opener on Wednesday night. The Tigers scored three times in the game's first five minutes and moved out to a 10-0 lead at halftime. Sailer's team is 1-0 for the 13th time in her 17 seasons at the helm.
Loyola brings a 2-0 record to Class of 1952 Stadium after defeating No. 10 North Carolina on Friday. The Greyhounds defeated UMBC in their season opener. Sunday's contest will be the first road game of the season for Loyola after starting with two wins at Curley Field.
The Tigers last two games away from Princeton were both played at Curley Field. They defeated North Carolina in the NCAA Semifinal and then won the NCAA Championship on Loyola's turf by defeating Georgetown 12-7 in the final. The Tigers went 3-0 on Loyola's field last season, defeating the Greyhounds 10-6 in the regular season.
Sunday's game is the first of three straight against top-5 teams and four straight against top-20 teams. The Tigers will play a pair of road games against No. 3 Virginia and No. 2 Duke beginning a week from Sunday.
