Princeton, N.J. - After an upset loss at Yale last Saturday, the Tigers enter the midway point of this season's Ivy schedule with a 2-1 conference mark. They look to get back on track in defense of their Ivy crown when Harvard visits Class of 1952 Stadium this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Princeton brings a 7-4 overall record to table after Yale snapped its six-game win streak. The Crimson are 2-8 overall and are coming off a win versus New Hampshire on Tuesday. The all-time series between the two teams is even at 14-14, but Princeton has won the last 10 meetings and has most recently rolled over the Crimson, winning by an average of nine goals the last four seasons.
Princeton head coach Chris Sailer is a graduate of Harvard herself. She came to Princeton in 1987 after captaining both the lacrosse and field hockey teams at Cambridge. Sailer finally beat her alma mater in 1993 and has not lost against Harvard since.
The Tigers enter Saturday's contest with the defense playing well. Princeton has held its opponents to under 10 goals in nine of its 11 games this year and is allowing 4.6 goals in its last three games. Senior Rachael Becker, who leads the squad with 35 caused turnovers, is now seventh on the career ground balls list with 175.
Junior Theresa Sherry still leads the offensive charge with her team-high 29 goals this season. Sherry has scored in all 11 of Princeton's games this year and is four goals away from 100 career goals.
