Princeton, N.J. - Princeton's current five-game winning streak started with a three-game homestand in late March. The Tigers return home on Wednesday night after back-to-back road wins and face Temple at 7:30 p.m. Tune into www.GoPrincetoTigers.com for all the live action.
Princeton and Temple both enter with six wins. The Tigers are 6-3 overall while the Owls come in at 6-4 after winning their last two. Both teams are 2-0 in their respective conferences and will resume league play after Wednesday night.
The Tigers have found their rhythm on both offense and defense and are outscoring opponents by 6.6 goals during the current win streak. Princeton is ranked No. 5 in IWLCA poll for the second straight week after it went to No. 7 Cornell and held the Ivies top scoring team to only two goals on Friday night. Senior Rachael Becker earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors after shutting down her marks at both Cornell and Delaware.
The offense is running like a well-oiled machine with junior Theresa Sherry scoring at least three goals in each of the last five games. She leads the Tigers with 24 goals on the year and is averaging better than three goals per game at home this season.
Princeton and Temple have played each other 17 previous times and the Tigers have won 10 of those contests. Princeton is 6-3 versus the Owls at home and has won the last four meetings with Temple.
Wednesday night's game is the fifth straight night contest for Princeton. The Tigers are 5-0 under the lights this year and finished last season with a 5-0 record at night.
