Princeton, N.J. - Princeton meets Ohio State for the first time in program history and a trip to the NCAA Final Four is at stake. The Tigers and Buckeyes square off at Class of 1952 Stadium in an NCAA Quarterfinal battle this Sunday, May 11 at 2 p.m.
The Tigers come off a 19-1 thrashing of LeMoyne in the opening round of the tournament. Ohio State upset Duke at Durham the same day and brings a 14-3 overall record to the quarters. Princeton is 13-4 overall and has won its last six.
Senior Rachael Becker, who was named the Ivy League Player of the Year earlier this week, leads a Tigers defense that is allowing only 6.68 goals per game this season. The offense has awakened during Princeton's six-game win streak and is scoring at a 14.33 goal-per-game clip during that stretch.
Princeton's win in the first round extends its tournament win streak to five and also improves the team to 10-0 all time in first-round NCAA tournament games. Senior Whitney Miller, who had four points in Thursday's win versus LeMoyne, leads the team in career postseason goals with 17.
The Buckeyes are 9-0 away from home this season and finished the year ranked No. 11 in the IWLCA national poll. The Tigers finished ranked No. 5. Of the seven remaining possible opponents for Princeton, Ohio State is the only team it did not face this regular season.
Tickets for Princeton-Ohio State are $4 for adult and $2 for students.
