Women's Swim Team Starts New Streak With Rout Of Dartmouth

PRINCETON, N.J. - Following a long break for finals, the Princeton women's swimming & diving team opened a new winning streak with a 173-118 win over Dartmouth. On a day when the Class of 2004 was honored, seniors Lisa Battaglia and Sarah Frauman earned wins.
Kelly Hannigan won a meet-high two events, taking the 50 back in 27.82 and the 100 back in 59.04. Sarah Schaffer placed second in the 50 back with a time of 28.22, but she took first in the 100 breast in 1:07.09.
Freshman Sobenna George matched Hannigan's meet-high perforance with two wins of her own. She won the 25 free in 11.51, while she also won the 50 breast in 31.52. Junior Stephanie Hsiao won the 100 free in 52.19, while freshman Michelle Demond won the 1-meter diving competition in 266.78.
While underclassmen had a number of strong performances, the day belonged to the 10 members of the Class of 2004. Battaglia and Frauman were among the members honored during the meet, and then both went out and won events. Battaglia took the 50 back in 27.82, while Frauman won the 100 fly in 1:00.28.
The Class of 2004 and the rest of the Tiger swimmers still have one meet remaining, and it's going to be the critical H-Y-P meet next weekend.
