Men's Water Polo Edges George Washington 6-4

Washington, D.C. - The Princeton men's water polo team completed a perfect 4-0 weekend with a 6-4 win over George Washington Sunday afternoon at the Smith Center Pool. Princeton is now 16-4 on the season and 8-0 in the CWPA Southern Division.
Princeton took an early lead in the game and extended it to 4-1 in the second quarter. George Washington rallied to make it 4-3 in the third quarter, but Princeton responded to extend the lead and then held on for the win.
The score stayed at 4-3 for only 39 seconds in the third quarter until Chris Kelsch scored to make it 5-3. GW got back within a goal, but Michael Murray provided the insurance goal with three seconds left in the third frame to close the game's scoring as neither team could put one in the cage in the final period.
Princeton struggled converting on their chances in the game, scoring just six goals on 23 shots. Scott Syverson made seven wins to earn the win in the Princeton cage.
John Stover led the Tigers with three goals.
Princeton returns to action next Saturday when it faces Bucknell and Navy at Bucknell's pool.
