Siebel Advances to Third Round at ITA Eastern Regionals

PHILADELPHIA - Jessica Siebel advanced to the third round of the main singles draw at the ITA Eastern Regionals this weekend to lead several Tigers in action at the annual event.
Siebel defeated LIU's Merve Koksal in straight sets in the first round, losing just three games, before coming from behind to defeat Virginia Tech's Anat Elazari in three sets in the second round. She lost the first set 6-0 before winning the final two sets 6-1 and 7-5.
Siebel's run ended in the third round when she fell to Maryland's Marianne Baker, 6-1 and 6-1.
The junior also participated in the main doubles draw along with partner Laura Trimble. The pair lost to the team of Lingman and Schnitter from rival Harvard in the first round by an 8-5 score.
Freshman Christine Kansky also made the main singles draw after winning two matches in the qualifying draw. Kansky won each of those matches in three sets, defeating Brown's Daisy Ames and Cornell's Molly Edinson. Kansky lost in the first round of the main draw to Maryland's Veronika Suberkova, 6-3 and 6-2.
Alison Hashmall and Darcy Robertson each participated in the qualifying singles draw and won a first-round match but did not qualify for the main draw.
