Dec. 2, 2004
The Princeton men's squash team earned its first win of the 2004 season Wednesday night when it traveled to Franklin & Marshall and earned an 8-1 win. With two-time national champion Yasser El Halaby sitting out of the match, it was up to freshman Robert Hong to lead the lineup from the top spot.
Hong was challenged briefly by George Edwards, although the Tiger freshman cruised after pulling out a tight 10-8 win in the first game. Mike Gilman also won in three games, although he was challenged in the first and third games.
Parker Sutton lost the No. 3 match, but there would be no major challenges the rest of the way. Preston Comey was the most dominant, sweeping a trio of 3-0 wins at the No. 5 spot. The squad, which was decimated in the preseason by either injuries or players taking time away from the program, will look for its first Ivy League win this weekend when it travels to Brown.
