Women's Lacrosse Hosts Scrimmage Tournament Saturday

The two-time defending national champion Princeton women's lacrosse team will host three other perennial Top 20 programs, including two teams that reached the NCAA tournament in 2003, in the Tigers' annual scrimmage tournament at Class of 1952 Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Dartmouth and Ohio State, each NCAA tournament teams a year ago, as well as Notre Dame, visit Princeton for a day of scrimmage games beginning at 10:30 a.m. Each team will play one full game with two 30-minute halves and two mini-games with one 25-minute running clock.
Princeton plays Ohio State at 11:10 a.m. in the first full game, while Dartmouth will play Notre Dame immediately after the conclusion of the Princeton game. Play continues with mini-games through approximately 4 p.m.
The Tigers defeated both Dartmouth and Ohio State last year on the way to their second straight national title. Princeton won 10-9 at Dartmouth April 26 to help ensure a share of the Ivy League title an defeated the Buckeyes in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament, 17-8, to advance to their fourth straight Final Four. Princeton played Notre Dame in the second round of the 2002 NCAA tournament, defeating the Irish to advance to the Final Four. Princeton begins its regular season March 3 at Lafayette. The Tigers' first home game is March 14 against Virginia in a rematch of last season's national-championship game, won by the Tigers 8-7 in overtime.
