The Princeton women's tennis team earned its second straight victory and finished the Ivy League season 4-3 with a tough 4-3 win over Columbia Sunday afternoon. Princeton finished the spring 8-11 overall.
The Tigers dominated the doubles matches, getting a tough win at No. 1 from seniors Alex Kobishyn and Avantika Bhargava, and used straight-set victories at No. 4 and No. 5 from Stephanie Berg and Laura Trimble to leave themselves one victory short of the clincher. That clincher would come from No. 2 Alison Hashmall, who outlasted Miriam Rahali in two difficult sets, 7-6 and 7-5.
Princeton No. 1 Darcy Robertson won the first set against Milena Kachar before Kachar came back to win that match in three sets. Princeton's No. 2 doubles team of senior Mateya McCoy and Robertson, a freshman, lost just one game in their victory. Princeton 4, Columbia 3 April 25, 2004 #1 Singles Milena Kachar (C), def.
