Seniors Jeff Hare, Vincent Vitale and Jason Bell were honored at the 2003-04 Princeton men's soccer banquet with the team's annual awards. Hare, a co-captain who led the team in scoring and defense, won the David S. Hackett Memorial Soccer Cup; Vitale received the Rob Myslik Award for his attitude and spirit; and Bell earned the Dr. William Trevor Trophy as the most improved player.
The David S. Hackett Memorial Soccer Cup is presented to the player whose enthusiasm, discipline and leadership contributed most to the team and to the sport of soccer at Princeton. It is given by his teammates and classmates of the Class of 1965 in memory of First Lieutenant David S. Hackett, United States MarineCorps, who was killed in action in Vietnam April 29, 1967.
The Rob Myslik Award is given to the member of the men's soccer team who most demonstrates the passion for life, the fiery competitiveness, the unwavering honesty, and the selfless generosity of our beloved teammate, friend and coach. Myslik was killed in a car accident in January, 2003.
The Dr. William Trevor Trophy is awarded annually to the player who has shown the greatest improvement in his quality of play and attitude during the season.
