Midway through last week, Lindsey Biles appeared in Sports Illustrated's Scorecard section. Then, on Saturday, Biles certainly proved she was deserving of that photo placement.
Biles was named the Ivy League's Offensive Player of the Week Monday, two days after she scored a career-high seven points (four goals, three assists) in Princeton's 17-8 win over Dartmouth. The win gave the undefeated and top-ranked Tigers the league's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament and at least a share of their fourth straight Ivy title.
The junior from Annapolis, Md., appeared in the calendar section of SI's Scorecard, where a brief blurb about the Tigers' upcoming matchup with Maryland Wednesday night also appeared.
On Saturday, two of Biles' goals came in a five-goal Princeton spurt that spanned halftime and gave the Tigers an insurmountable 11-5 lead. She also had two goals in the game's final minutes that helped Princeton to its final victory margin.
For the season, Biles leads the Tigers and ranks second in the Ivy League with 55 points (42 goals, 13 assists). She has at least three goals in nine of Princeton's 14 games this season.
After hosting the Terrapins Wednesday night, Princeton can clinch an outright Ivy League title Saturday when it travels to Brown for a 1 p.m. game.
