Men's Water Polo Defeats Johns Hopkins 16-11

Baltimore, Md. - Junior John Stover scored six goals to lead the Princeton men's water polo team to a 16-11 win over Johns Hopkins Thursday night. Princeton built a 9-4 halftime lead and cruised through the second half to remain perfect this season at 6-0.
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, as Stover scored two goals in the first quarter. Sophomore Nicholas Seaver opened the scoring in the game and Hopkins tied it up before Stover game the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish in the game.
In the second quarter, Princeton extended its lead by out-scoring the Blue Jays 6-3. Stover scored two more goals, while junior Mike McKenna ended the half with two consecutive goals for the Tigers.
Johns Hopkins made a run at Princeton in the third quarter as the Blue Jays cut the score 12-9, but the Tigers were too much for the Blue Jays and were able to hold onto their lead and added three scores in the final quarter.
Princeton returns to the pool on Sunday at Salem and the Tigers will face both Salem and Navy.
