Men's Water Polo Places Third at ECAC Tournament

Cambridge, Mass. - The Princeton men's water polo team placed third at the 2004 ECAC Tournament at Harvard this weekend following a 2-1 performance. The Tigers earned wins on the opening day over George Washington and Iona to advance to the playoff round, but fell to St. Francis this morning.
With two wins on Saturday, Princeton had advanced to 10-0 on the season. In the opener, Princeton topped George Washington 14-6. Reigning CWPA Player of the Week John Stover led the way in the win with five goals, while freshman Zach Beckmann added three.

In Saturday's second game the Tigers topped Iona 13-4. Stover again led the offense, scoring three times and setting up another three.

The Tigers 10 game win streak to start the season ended this morning against St. Francis. The two teams, which are tied for ninth in latest CWPA standings played an exciting game that St. Francis took 10-6. Six different Tigers scored in the game as St. Francis goalie Alexsandre Stankovic made several incredible saves to keep princeton at bay.
