Princeton opened the scoring at 3:16 of the first when sophomore Kevin Westgarth scored his third of the season. Just as a St. Lawrence penalty expired, junior Sebastian Borza fired the puck on net and Westgarth pounced on the rebound. Senior Neil Stevenson-Moore also assisted on the goal. Princeton carried play for the first half of the period, but St. Lawrence came on in the second half and scored twice to take a 2-1 lead to the lockerroom. The first goal came at 14:30 when T.J. Trevelyan picked off a Princeton defensive pass and went in on a breakaway. Trevelyan did not get a clean shot off but was able to slip it in as junior goaltender Eric Leroux came out to challenge him.

Princeton came out strong in the second and scored twice to regain the lead and take a 3-2 lead into the third period. The first goal came at 3:07. Sophomore Grant Goeckner-Zoeller fed senior Luc Paquin wqho carried the puck into the Saint zone. Paquin and Sproat crossed with Paquin dropping the puck to Sproat who picked the top corner on the far side for his 12th goal of the season.
Princeton then went ahead at 15:42 while skating four aside. Sproat found senior Jesse Masear right as he got on the ice. Masear carried it along the perimeter and fired a blast that beat Saint goaltender Mike McKenna low on the short side. Masear's third goal of the season was also assisted by Goeckner-Zoeller and was Princeton's second four-on-four goal in as many games. Shots were even at nine in the second period.
St. Lawrence evened the game up early in the third on the second power-play goal of the night for the Saints. Stace Page fed Josh Anderson on the doorstep and he pointed the puck into the net for his sixth of the season.

Junior Patrick Neundorfer fired a long pass from the Tiger zone that bounced off Sproat and rolled in on the Saint net. The Saints however bounced back from the goal, and mounted a comeback late in the third. First at 17:55, Adam Hogg redirected a Mike Madill point shot.
The game seemed destined for overtime, but Page won the race to his own rebound with 34 seconds remaining to make the score 5-4. Anderson and Max Taylor assisted, and Zeiler scored his second of the night into an open net as time expired.
