Women's Swimming Looks To Deep-Six Rivals At Home Ivy Championships
February 23, 2005 | Women's Swimming and Diving
Feb. 23, 2005
Being the underdog in this weekend's Ivy League championships might be unchartered territory for the Princeton women's swimming & diving team, but the Tigers will shoot for their sixth straight Ivy League title in the very chartered territory - the friendly confines of DeNunzio Pool.
The 2005 Ivy League Women's Swimming & Diving Championships take place Feb. 24-26 at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton. The Tigers, who have won the last five league championships and 15 Ivy titles overall, will enter the weekend as one of seven squads looking to unseat the Harvard Crimson, which completed a perfect run through the regular-season league schedule.
Princeton knows it has the talent to be in the race on Saturday night, but it will need a total effort to get the job done. The decisive points could come from the consolation races as much as the championship races.
While depth will ve critical, the individual standout for Princeton should once again be Stephanie Hsiao. The senior earned All-Ivy honors in six different events last season, and she will again be counted on to dominate the competition in her final league championships.
