Men's Fencing Finished Third Overall

MADISON, N.J. - The men's epee team of Soren Thompson, Benjamin Solomon and Tommi Hurme of the Princeton men's fencing squad all placed in the top-five at the NCAA Mid-Regionals held at Drew University. The men's fencing team brought home a third-place overall finish.
In the epee, Princeton finished third. Thompson was the top-bouter with a second-place performance, while Solomon and Hurme finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sophomore Alejandro Bras claimed a fifth-place performance in the men's foil. Senior Scott Sherman and freshman Douglas Hohensee took 10th and 13th in the same weapon. As a team the Tigers placed second in the foil.
Junior Owen Cornwall and freshman John Winnerman turned in eighth and 16th-place efforts in the men's sabre, while the team earned a seventh-place finish in the weapon.
Thompson and Solomon will join Bras at the NCAA Finals. The finals will take place from March 17-20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Rice University and the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority will host the round-robin event.
