No. 3 Penn State Sweeps Men's Volleyball In EIVA Finale

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Despite a team-high 11 kills from Peter Eichler, the Princeton men's volleyball team was no match for No. 3 Penn State Saturday night in State College, Pa. The Nittany Lions stayed perfect in league play by hitting .402 for the match and winning 3-0.
Penn State claimed its 26th win of the season by topping Princeton 30-23, 30-22, 30-20. Princeton's three-match win streak ended with the loss, and the Tigers' record fell to 6-12, 3-9 in the EIVA Tait Division.
Eichler recorded 11 kills, four digs and two blocks in the loss, while junior Jack Pichard led the team with 25 assists. Junior libero Mark Stevens led Princeton with five digs.
Despite the loss, Princeton is assured of the No. 5 seed in the EIVA playoffs, which will open on April 23. The Tigers will travel to Newark to play the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders. Princeton was swept by Rutgers this season, although the Tigers did take it to five games on the road this season.
The Princeton regular season will conclude Friday night when it takes on Mercyhurst at 7 p.m.
