This Week's Storylines
Thanksgiving in New England
The Princeton men's hockey team is back on the road for the third time in four weekends as the team heads to New England for the Thanksgiving weekend to face Dartmouth and Harvard in ECAC Hockey League action.
Last Weekend
Princeton was swept at home by Cornell and Colgate. On Friday the Tigers spotted Cornell a 3-0 lead before rallying to within a goal in the final period. On Saturday the Tigers outshot Colgate 51-29 but surrendered three goals while down two men as Colgate picked up a 4-2 win.
Too Close for Comfort
Dating back to last season, 14 of Princeton's last 17 games have been decided by a goal or ended in a tie, including all seven of eight games this season. Princeton is 2-9-3 in those 14 games. Seven of those games have gone to overtime and Princeton is 0-5-2 in those games. Saturday's game against Colgate was the first this season decided by a greater margin.
The Series With Dartmouth
Princeton and Dartmouth have met 177 times with Dartmouth holding a 87-78-12 series edge. The Big Green won the last meeting between the two, which snapped a four-game Princeton unbeaten streak in the series. Princeton is 30-35-6 all-time at Dartmouth and Guy Gadowsky is 3-1 against Dartmouth.
Scouting the Big Green
Dartmouth is 5-3-0 overall and 4-3-0 in the ECAC Hockey League to sit in a tie for second place in the league standings. The Big Green is also ranked 15th nationally and has won three of its last four games, sweeping Colgate and Cornell and splitting with Brown and Yale last weekend.
A Season Ago
Princeton and Dartmouth split their meetings last season with both teams winning at home. In November at Princeton, the Tigers blanked Dartmouth 3-0 as Grant Goeckner-Zoeller scored the game winner and B.J. Sklapsky made 41 saves for the shutout. In February in Hanover, Christian Read's third-period goal forced overtime but Dartmouth scored the game winner at 3:58 of the extra session.
The Series With Harvard
Princeton and Harvard will meet on Saturday night for the 200th time. Harvard leads the all-time series 142-48-9 and is 69-14-4 on its home ice. Harvard has won four-straight games in the series, including two one-goal games last season.
Scouting the Crimson
Harvard and Princeton are currently tied for 11th in the ECAC Hockey League standings as Harvard is 2-7-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the ECAC Hockey League. The Crimson has lost its last three games entering the weekend having been swept at home last weekend by Brown and Yale, and losing a game Tuesday night at Boston University.
A Season Ago
Harvard swept Princeton last season, winning both games by a single goal. In November at Bake Rink, Harvard scored in the third period to snap a 1-1 tie and win 2-1. In Cambridge in February Harvard won a wild game 5-4 in overtime. Harvard led the game 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, and 4-3 but Princeton tied it up each time. The game was eventually won by Harvard in overtime. Grant Goeckner-Zoeller had two points for Princeton and Eric Leroux made 52 saves for Princeton, including stopping a penalty shot in overtime.
Special Teams

Bowling Green and Miami visit St. Lawrence and Clarkson, while Yale visits Boston University and Wayne State hosts Cornell. Brown also hosts Providence.
