CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Carly Grabowski and Christina Fast claimed the final two matches of the dual meet, but it wasn't enough to lead Princeton past Harvard in the Tigers' final Ivy League match. Princeton fell to 5-2 and will conclude its regular season next Sundat at Trinity.
Grabowski, who has consistently proven to be one of the toughest match players for Princeton in her two years, won her first two games 9-3 and 9-7. She dropped her third game but rallied to claim the final game 9-5.
Fast made quick work of her match at No. 9, dropping only five points in a three-game win.
Princeton extended three matches to a fourth game, including at No. 1, as Claire Rein-Weston and Harvard freshman Lily Lorentzen split the first two games. Lorentzen took advantage of her home court and won the final two games. Aly Pearson (No. 3) and Margaret Kent (No. 7) also extended their matches to a fourth game before falling.
Princeton will compete at Trinity next Sunday before going for the team national championships in two weekends. Those championships will bring the Tigers back to Cambridge.
