In no way has anything been settled in an Ivy League women's lacrosse race in which two of the teams have only played two league games. So the main thing that 3-0 Princeton can do is continue to win those league games, starting with a trip to Harvard Saturday afternoon (noon).
The No. 10 Tigers (6-4), on a four-game winning streak, are now the only Ivy team without a league loss. Harvard, which fell to 3-8 overall after a loss at New Hampshire Wednesday, enters Saturday at 1-1 in the league.
Princeton's win over the Crimson last season was its 13th in a row against Harvard. The 21-12 score marked the fourth year in a row the Tigers had defeated the Crimson by at least a nine-goal margin.
The Tigers have been stout defensively throughout their four-game winning streak, particularly in the second half. Princeton has allowed just 29 goals in those four games and has allowed just six second-half goals in its last three games after either trailing or being tied in each of them at halftime.
Saturday's game is the first half of a doubleheader between Princeton and Harvard. The men's lacrosse game between the two schools begins at 3 p.m.
