Lewis-Lamonica Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

Princeton sophomore midfielder Katie Lewis-Lamonica has been named the Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to a 9-8 victory over No. 6 Maryland in their regular-season finale this past Wednesday.
Lewis-Lamonica scored a team-high three goals against the Terrapins, including two huge scores in the second half. Her unassisted goal with 4:13 left made it 9-7 Princeton and proved to be the game winner, while her first goal of the half, with 25:45 left, started a 4-0 Princeton scoring run.
The second consecutive Ivy Offensive Player of the Week for Princeton (Kathleen Miller won the award last week), Lewis-Lamonica ranks second on the Tigers with 33 goals and 40 points this season. She also is second on the team with 25 draw controls.
Lewis-Lamonica was the 2005 Ivy League Rookie of the Year after scoring 28 goals as a freshman.
Princeton finished the regular season 11-5 and earned the Ivy League's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament with a 6-1 league record. The Tigers will play an NCAA first round game on Sun., May 14.
