Tiger Women's Lacrosse To Play In Two Fall Tournaments

The Princeton women's lacrosse team will play in two fall scrimmage tournaments, including a home event Oct. 20 that will feature five 2007 NCAA tournament teams including three-time defending NCAA champion Northwestern.
On Sat., Oct. 13, the Tigers will play in the 2007 University of Pennsylvania Fall Tournament at Franklin Field along with a pair of other 2007 NCAA tournament teams, the host Quakers and Hofstra, as well as Delaware. The Tigers will meet Delaware at 10:30 a.m., Hofstra at 12:30 p.m. and Ivy rival Penn at 1:30 p.m.
Games at the Penn Tournament will feature 25-minute halves with a running clock and five-minute breaks both at halftime and between games.
Princeton's 2007 Fall Tournament, at Class of 1952 Stadium on Sat., Oct. 20, is a full-day event that begins at 9:30 a.m. with Princeton taking on North Carolina and concludes at 3:50 p.m. when the Tigers play Syracuse. Games will be 35 minutes in length with a running clock, no halftime and no timeouts.
The day will feature 10 35-minute games. In addition to the Tigers, Northwestern, North Carolina and Syracuse, Penn will also make the trip to Class of 1952 Stadium.
Princeton begins its 2008 season March 1 at Johns Hopkins. The Tigers, who finished 10-7 a year ago and 5-2 in Ivy League play, have reached the NCAA tournament in each of the last 10 seasons.
