Dixon Tosses Three TDs in 53-18 Princeton Sprint Football Loss to Penn

PRINCETON -- Andrew Dixon threw three touchdown passes, two of which were caught by senior Lon Johnson, but the Princeton sprint football team closed its 2007 season with a 53-18 loss to Penn Friday night on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium.
Penn scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. The first was on a 23-yard pass by Quaker quarterback Colin Dampier to Tomas Altamirano with 5:57 to play, and Marten Basta had a nine-yard TD catch four minutes later on a pass from Altamirano for an 13-0 lead after the extra point was blocked.
The Quakers' Mike Bagnoli and Rob Lombardi added touchdown rushes in the second quarter and Dampier connected with Basta once again on an 11-yard pass after a Tiger fumble deep in Princeton own territory to give Penn a 34-0 lead at the half.
Dampier added a 14-yard touchdown pass to Clarke Armatis four minutes into the second half to put the Quakers up 41-0.
Princeton broke through on a Dixon 25-yard touchdown pass to Johnson on the first play of the Tiger drive with 1:56 to play in the third quarter after Michael Schoder blocked a Penn punt.
Dixon made it two touchdown passes when he connected with Anthony Soroka with 9:24 to play in the game, capping a four-play drive on which all four plays were completed passes. Henry Williams had an 11-yard catch and Schoder had two 11-yard catches to set up the 15-yard Soroka catch to make the score 41-12 in favor of Penn.
Penn's Ryan Levan had a TD catch from Dampier on a four-yard pass with 7:23 to play in the fourth quarter to make the score 47-12, but the Tigers had their final score with 2:48 to go on a 25-yard catch by Johnson that put the score at 47-18.
The Quakers' final score came on a Max Greenky three-yard run with 1:10 left to finalize the 53-18 margin.
