This Weekend
Princeton closes out the first part of the season this weekend with a pair of non-league games against sixth-ranked Notre Dame. Princeton is 5-5 overall this season and is off for the next 20 days following this weekend's series.
Last Time Out
Princeton split a pair of league games last weekend. On Friday, Rensselaer rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Princeton 4-3. A night later, the Tigers again led early and held on for a 4-3 win against Union.
All Even
Princeton's split last weekend moved the Tigers to 5-5 overall this season. Princeton is 4-4 in league play and 1-1 in non-league contests.
This Week's Opponents
The Series with Notre Dame
Princeton hosts Notre Dame this weekend for the 14th and 15th meetings between the two schools. Princeton leads the all-time series 10-3 overall and 4-1 at home. The teams last played two seasons ago to open the 2004-05 season at Notre Dame. Princeton took the first game of that series 5-3, while Notre Dame took the second, 2-0. The last time the teams played in Princeton, Notre Dame won 2-1 on Dec. 28, 2001.

Princeton won its 2004-05 season opener at Notre Dame 5-3. Current senior Erik Pridham scored the game winner in that game and also assisted on senior Kyle Hagel's insurance tally. Senior Mike Moore also had an assist in the game. The following day, Notre Dame goaltender Jordan Pearce made 26 saves and Garrett Regan and Mark Van Guilder scored for Notre Dame in a 2-0 Fighting Irish win.
Scouting the Fighting Irish
Notre Dame is 14-4-0 overall and 12-2-0 in the CCHA entering the weekend. Notre Dame has won its last seven games and 10 of its last 11, with the only hiccup coming at top-ranked Miami. Notre Dame has climbed to No. 6 in the national polls. Princeton and Notre Dame have faced one common opponent this season, Rensselaer. Princeton fell to the Engineers 4-3 last weekend, while Notre Dame edged RPI by the same score two weeks ago.
Princeton vs. the CCHA
Princeton is 9-22-1 all-time against CCHA teams and is 3-6-0 against those opponents in games played at home. Princeton last played a CCHA team last December when it defeated Nebraska-Omaha 3-2 in overtime at home.
Non-League Opponent
Princeton's two games against Notre Dame are its first two this season against non-league teams. Princeton has played two non-league games, but those came against league opponents, Yale and Quinnipiac. Princeton split those games. Last year Princeton was 3-3-1 against non-league foes and was 3-4 a season earlier.

Off-Ice Honor
Senior Landis Stankievech was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship. The senior was one of three Princetonians to win a Rhodes Scholarship and he will study at Oxford next year. Twenty Princeton athletes have won Rhodes Scholarships, including Mike Spence, a hockey player and recent Nobel Prize for Economics winner, and Bill Bradley, a basketball player and politician.
Top Line
Princeton line of Brett Wilson, Lee Jubinville and Cam MacIntyre combined for five of Princeton's seven goals scored last weekend. Jubinville and MacIntyre each scored in Friday's loss, while Wilson netted two goals and Jubinville one in the win over Rensselaer. The trio combined for 11 points last weekend.
In the 50s
Brett Wilson and Lee Jubinville each recently joined Princeton's 50-point club. Wilson now has 56 points to his credit and leads active Tigers in goals, assists and points. Jubinville surpassed 50 points in Saturday's win and ranks second to Wilson in all three categories.
Point Leader
Cam MacIntyre added three points over the weekend and continues to lead Princeton in goals and points this season. The sophomore has 14 points in 10 games this year.
Goals From 13 Scorers
Landis Stankievech scored on a rebound in Friday's loss to Union for his first goal of the season. Through 10 games this year, 13 different Tigers have found the back of the net. Last year, Princeton got goals from 20 different skaters over the 34-game schedule.
Back in the Lineup
Sophomore Mark Magnowski made his return to the Tiger lineup on Saturday after missing four games with an injury. Magnowski made his presence felt as he scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period. Magnowski has two game winners to his credit this season.
First Point
Freshman Kevin Lohry, playing in his third game of the season, picked up his first career point, an assist, in Saturday's win against Union. Lohry started the play that resulted in Mark Magnowski's game-winning goal. With the assist, all six of Princeton's freshman skaters have at least a point this season.
Balanced Effort
With Kevin Lohry's assist against Union, 20 of Princeton's 22 skaters now have points this season. The only two skaters not to have recorded points have only appeared in three or less games.
At Least One for Everyone
With Lohry's assist against Union, every skater in the Tiger lineup has recorded at least one point in their careers. All six of Princeton's freshman skaters have tallied at least one point this season. Only goaltenders Alan Reynolds and Thomas Sychterz do not have points in their careers. Sophomore netminder Zane

Team Notes
Turning the Momentum
After starting last season 1-6-2, the Tigers finished out the season 14-10-1. With a 5-5 record this season, the Tigers are 19-15-1 over the last 35 games.
Early Jump
Princeton came out strong for both games last weekend, skating to 2-0 leads in the first periods of both games. Princeton is 4-1 in games when it scores the first goal, and 1-4 in games when the opponent does.
Ranked Teams
Princeton's two games this weekend will be the team's third and fourth games against ranked opponents this season. Princeton dropped the first to then No. 8 Clarkson 6-2 and the second to then No. 18 Rensselaer 4-3.
Home and Away
Saturday's win over Union was Princeton's first win at home this season and moved the Tigers' home record to 1-4. Princeton is the opposite, 4-1, in games played on the road this season.
On the Horizon
Princeton returns to action following a 20-day layoff during the holidays on Dec. 28 at Minnesota State and Dec. 30 at Nebraska-Omaha. Princeton plays at home one week later when Ivy-rivals Dartmouth and Harvard visit Hobey Baker Rink. The game against Dartmouth will be televised live on ESPNU and feature Skate with the Tigers following the game.
