Women's Lacrosse Returns Home For Wednesday Night Tilt With Temple
April 10, 2007 | Women's Lacrosse
The Princeton women's lacrosse team had the same 4-4 record a season ago before exploding on a late-season run that landed just an overtime goal short of the final four. The 2007 Tigers hope to start a similar run Wednesday night when Temple visits Class of 1952 Stadium for a 7 p.m. game.
Princeton (4-4, 1-1 Ivy), playing at home for the first time since March 21 and at Class of 1952 Stadium for the first time since March 17, is looking for its ninth consecutive win over a Temple team that has played tight games with the Tigers each of the last two seasons. Princeton won in Philadelphia 10-9 a year ago; the Tigers got two late goals two seasons ago to pull away for a 10-8 victory against the Owls.
The Tigers led Yale 4-0 in the first half on Saturday but fell victim to the heroics of the Bulldogs' Lauren Taylor, who scored with 10 seconds left to give her team a come-from-behind 6-5 win. The Yale win was just the second over Princeton by an Ivy League team other than Dartmouth since the beginning of the 1994 season.
Princeton's four losses this season have come by a combined total of six goals.
Temple (4-6) began its Atlantic 10 Conference play this past weekend with one-goal wins at home over Massachusetts and Richmond. Bonnie Rosen is in her first year as head coach of the Owls after many years as the head coach at UConn.
