McGarvie Named Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Princeton sophomore midfielder Holly McGarvie has been named the Ivy League women's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after a pair of four-goal performances in wins over Columbia and Brown this past weekend.
McGarvie scored two goals in each half in Princeton's 19-8 win over Columbia, including consecutive goals in the final minute of the first half that propelled Princeton to an 11-5 halftime lead. The next day, in a 16-2 win over Brown, McGarvie scored on four of her five shots, including both of her eight-meter attempts, as the Tigers tied their largest victory margins this season.
The Medford, N.J., native also had two draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover in the Brown win and two draw controls and three caused turnovers in the victory over Columbia.
McGarvie, the 2006 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, leads Princeton with 33 draw controls this season and ranks second on the team with 20 caused turnovers. Her 21 goals and 30 points each rank third on the team.
Princeton plays at Maryland on Wednesday night before concluding the regular season Sunday afternoon at Class of 1952 Stadium against Georgetown.
