Three Princeton women's lacrosse players, senior Kathleen Miller and juniors Katie Lewis-Lamonica and Norris Novak, were named to the IWLCA All Mid-Atlantic Region first team announced Wednesday.
Miller, a first-team all-region pick for the second straight year, led Princeton in scoring with 64 points in 2007, including a team-leading 17 assists. She was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection. The Alexandria, Va., native finished her career fourth all-time at Princeton with 207 points and second in school history with 68 assists.
Lewis-Lamonica earned first-team all-region honors for the third straight year after leading Princeton with 51 goals and 33 caused turnovers in 2007. She also was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League pick. The Lawrenceville, N.J., native scored on nearly 60% of her shot attempts in 2007 and finished second on the team with 28 groundballs.
Novak, a second-team all-region pick a year ago, was a first-team All-Ivy League selection as Princeton's top defender as a junior. The Baltimore native ranked among the team leaders with 27 groundballs and 16 caused turnovers in 2007 while starting all 17 games.
The three Princeton players are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/USLacrosse All-America teams, which will be announced next week.
The 2007 Tigers made the NCAA tournament field for the 10th straight season and the 15th time in the last 16 seasons before falling to Virginia in the NCAA first round. Princeton finished 10-7 overall and 5-2 in Ivy League play in 2007.
