Parros Becomes First Princetonian to Win a Stanley Cup

George Parros, a member of the Princeton men's hockey Class of 2003, became the first Princetonian to be a member of a Stanley Cup winning team when his Anaheim Ducks won the trophy on Wednesday night, defeating Ottawa four games to one in the best-of-seven series.
He appeared in 34 games for Anaheim during the regular season after being acquired from Colorado in a trade. Parros scored one goal and amassed 102 penalties in those games. In the playoffs he appeared in five games for the Ducks.
The second-year NHLer began his pro career immediately following his senior year at Princeton and spent two seasons in the minor leagues before becoming the seventh Princetonian to play in the NHL when he was named to the Los Angeles Kings' opening night roster for the 2005-06 season. Parros spent last season in L.A., before moving on to Colorado early this year. After two games with the Avalanche, he was dealt back to the West Coast, this time to Anaheim.
Parros played in 111 games at Princeton, scoring 20 goals and adding 25 assists for 45 points. The Washington, Pa., native also went to high school in New Jersey at Delbarton.
In addition to Parros, Brent Flahr is also a member of the Ducks' organization in the scouting department. Flahr was a four-year letterwinner at Princeton in the mid-90s and has worked as an amateur and professional scout since the 2003-04 season.
