Five Tigers Earn Academic Honors from IWLCA; Team Wins Honors As Well
August 07, 2007 | Women's Lacrosse
Five Princeton women's lacrosse players from the 2007 squad, along with the Tigers as a team, have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Assocation (IWLCA).
2007 graduates Christine Dobrosky, Alex Gangler, Colleen O'Boyle and Caitlin Reimers, along with rising senior Katie Lewis-Lamonica, were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll from Division I. 410 student-athletes from 157 institutions in NCAA Divisions I, II and III were honored for achieving success in the classroom. Princeton ranked second among Division I programs with a total of five honorees.
As a team, the Tigers also earned Honor Squad accolades from the IWLCA in 2007. The Tigers earned the recognition given to teams that held a team grade-point average of 3.00 or higher for the entire 2006-07 academic year.
96 schools in the three NCAA divisions were named Academic Team honorees.
Dobrosky and O'Boyle were art and archaelogy majors at Princeton, while Gangler earned a degree in politics. Reimers majored in Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, as does 2008 graduate Lewis-Lamonica.
Princeton made its 10th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance in 2007. The Tigers finished 10-7 overall and 5-2 in Ivy League play.
