Several Swimmers Claim Opening Weekend Wins At Rutgers Invitational

Both newcomers and veterans have gotten off to quick starts for the Princeton men's and women's swimming and diving teams during the Rutgers Invitational, which opened the 2008-09 season for both squads. Among the familar faces atop the winner's stand are defending league champions Courtney Kilkuts and Doug Lennox.
While the actual competition goes from Friday through Sunday, both Princeton teams only competed during the Friday and Saturday sessions.
Kilkuts, a two-year Ivy League champion and a member of Princeton's 2008 NCAA team, won the 200 IM in 2:04.05. Sophomore teammate Megan Waters won the 50 free in 23.45, while freshmen Jillian Altenburger (200 free) and Aislinn Smalling (500 free) were 'A' finalists.
On the men's side, Lennox was a winner in the 200 IM (1:47.86) and the 50 free (20.17), while Robert Griest won the 500 free (4:37.37) and Michael Carter won the 100 fly (50.84).
