Sailer to be Inducted into National Lacrosse Hall of Fame

BALTIMORE, Md. (11/6/08) ? Princeton University head women's lacrosse coach Chris Sailer will be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame this weekend. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, at The Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley, Md.
Sailer has led Princeton to three NCAA Championships, in 1994, 2002 and 2003. The Tigers have made 17 NCAA tournament appearances, played in 11 national semifinal games and have reached the tournament in each of the last 11 seasons.
"I am thrilled and humbled to be inducted into the US Lacrosse National Hall of Fame," Sailer said. "For nearly 23 years, I have had the pleasure and the privilege to coach at an exceptional university and to work in an environment and for an administration which values the educational benefits of intercollegiate athletics. My fondest memories are of the student-athletes and teams I have coached over the years. It is their achievements and their victories that have led to this recognition for me. I share this honor with them, all of my assistant coaches, and everyone who has helped me along the way."
Sailer has been named the National Coach of the Year three times and earned regional coach of the year honors six times. Her 282 career wins is the second most by an active Division I coach, and even more remarkable is her 74.6 win percentage in her 22 years as a head coach.
She has coached 21 first-team All-Americans, 39 first-team All-Ivy League selections and eight Ivy League Players of the Year. In addition, she has been inducted into four other hall of fames in the past, including: Haverford High School, Harvard Varsity Club, US Lacrosse New England and Philadelphia/Eastern Pennsylvania halls of fame.
The 2008 induction class also consists of: are Roberts Brennan, Lynn Craun, Pat Dillon, Tom Marechek, Dom Starsia, George Tracy and Dick Watts.
Other Princeton National Lacrosse Hall of Fame members include: William G. Tierney, Charles D. Murphy, Henry E. Fish, Howard J. Krongard, L. Myrton Gaines, Frederick A. Allner, Ralph N. Willis, Donald P. Hahn, Alvin B. Krongard, Tyler Campbell, Harland W. Meistrell and Conrad Sutherland.
