Squash Youth Sweeps Franklin & Marshall In Mid-Week Showdown
December 04, 2008 | Men's Squash
Head coach Bob Callahan took the freshmen and sophomores on his men's
squash team to Lancaster, Pa., Wednesday night for a mid-week showdown
with Franklin & Marshall. The trip, a good opportunity to provide
both experience and camaraderie, was a success for the No. 2 Princeton
Tigers, who moved to 3-0 with a sweep of the Diplomats.
Freshman Chris Callis, who recently won a challenge match over 2008 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Dave Letourneau, won his first match at the No. 1 position with a 9-2, 9-2, 9-3 victory over Sadiq Madraswala, while Letourneau followed with a 9-2, 9-2, 9-4 win over Chris Gagnier. Another freshman, Kelly Shannon, topped Ry Hawley at the No. 3 spot.
Every Princeton player won 3-0 in the match. The Tigers will return to the courts Saturday when they face Brown (Saturday), Williams and Bowdoin (Sunday) in a weekend trip to New England.
